Student Advisory Council
Ben Beier - President
The Student Advisory Council is a group of college students from the
St. Lawrence Catholic Campus Center who represent the various groups
throughout the Center and who serve as student advisors to Fr. Vince.
They are considered a "think tank" for the Center discussing various
topics related to St. Lawrence, Catholicism in general, and the entire
University. They work to unite the Center and the students to the greater
University community.
Leading the group this year are: Ben Beier, Daniel Stover, David Mayans,
Drew Gonterwitz, Jennifer Donnally, Katie Davis and Mitzi Keel.
These students examine the needs of the Church and how the St. Lawrence
Center can best meet those needs, thus providing them an opportunity
to become directly involved in shaping the future of the St. Lawrence
Center.
Advisory Council
The Advisory Council is a consultive body comprised of parents, alumni
and friends that are responsible to the Director of the St. Lawrence
Center, who is the administrator accountable to the Archbishop. The
Advisory Council assists the Director through its vision of what the
ministry is called to become in its life. This prayerful body consists
of the visionaries called to guide the ministry in fulfilling its mission.
They are responsible for assisting the Director in assuring the progress
of Catholic campus ministry including the development of policies, strategic
planning, and evaluation of operations and key administrative personnel
with respect to institutional advancement. General responsibilities
include: establishing policy, strategic planning, program evaluation
and advocacy.
They assist the Director in assessing the spiritual and temporal needs
of the ministry. In doing this, the Advisory Council must be mindful
of the ministry’s relationship with the diocesan Church, as well
as the Church worldwide. They must also be equally conscious of the
ministry’s responsibility to the civic as well as the global communities.
They assist annually in establishing goals and objectives aimed at fulfilling
the impact plan.
Members of the Advisory Council are: Most Rev. James P. Keleher, Gene
Diederich (Chair), Charles Berkel, Rev. Steve Beseau, Dr. Dick Cummings,
Wayne Godsey, Rich Henry, Dan Lowe, Rev. Vince Krische, Kathleen McCluskey-Fawcett,
